MHHS boys win 5A-East track meet, girls finish 3rd

The Mountain Home High School track teams began the postseason Friday by hosting the 5A-East Conference Meet at Bomber Stadium.

The Bomber boys ended up with the conference championship as they finished five points ahead of Nettleton. Individually for Mountain Home, Whit Lawrence, Jacob Pyeatt and Andrew Westphal finished first, second and third respectively in the 1600-meter run; Westphal, Lawrence and Pyeatt were first, second and third in the 3200-meter run; Bob Allen won the 800-meter run with Pyeatt and Lawrence finishing third and fourth respectively; Hunter Dismore took third place in the pole vault with teammate Brayden Daniel in fourth place; Dalton Schaufler finished fourth in the triple jump; Michael Helms ended up fourth in the discus; Brock Bogy was fifth in the shot put; Brandon Weaver finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles; and Brody Patterson was fifth in the 300-meter hurdles. Mountain Home’s team Allen, Jacob Lewis, Tyler Sosnowski and Westphal took third place in the 4×800-meter relay; Dantevious Jones, Hunter Preis, Tatem Beshears and Gage Hershberger were third in the 4×100-meter relay; and Allen, Seth Beshears, Schaufler and Jones ended up third in the 4×400-meter relay.

The Lady Bombers ended up third in the team standings with Jonesboro taking the conference title, and West Memphis finish second. Among Mountain Home’s top performances, Kinsey Raley won the pole vault with teammate Joia Traver in third place, Bella Bevel ended up second in the 400-meter dash, Rylee Patterson took second in the 3200-meter run and third in the 1600-meter run, Cayden Jones finished fifth in the shot put, Lauren Chafin was third in the 100-meter hurdles, and Abby Martin ended up fifth in the 300-meter hurdles. The team of Ka’lee Daniel, Britney Jenkins, Patterson and Emma Martin finished second in the 4×800-meter relay; Bevel, Jaden Chapa, Abby Martin and Charlotte Watson were third in the 4×400-meter relay; and Danielle Frencl, Watson, Trinity Willett and Allie Parsons ended up fifth in the 4×100-meter relay.
