Eagle Vision The 2006 documentary Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out, which features Super 8 footage that Police drummer Stewart Copeland personally shot while touring during his famous band’s heyday, will get its first release on Blu-ray and digitally on May 31.

The film, which also will be re-released on DVD the same day, offers an insider’s view of the group as it ascends to rock stardom.

“In 1978, when I was a member of a struggling rock band called The Police, I scraped together enough money to buy a Super 8 movie camera,” Copeland explains. “As soon as I raised it to my eye and started filming, amazing things began to happen. It was like watching a movie unfold as the band sparked a fire that lit up the world for us. Everyone Stares is that movie.”

Everyone Stares is augmented by Stewart’s humorous narration, and features a soundtrack that includes rare live Police performances and alternate studio versions of classic tunes by the group.

The Blu-ray and DVD also offer some bonus features, including more than 20 minutes of extra footage and commentary by Copeland and Police guitarist Andy Summers.

The Everyone Stares Blu-ray and DVD are available for pre-order now. Check out a trailer for the film at the Eagle Rock YouTube channel.
