The Who's support acts for spring tour include J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf

Courtesy of Live NationThe Who is preparing to kick off its Moving On! tour with a spring North American leg that begins May 7 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the legendary band has revealed the guest artists that will opening that first series of concerts.

Among the acts that will be supporting The Who is J. Geils Band frontman Peter Wolf, who will appear at two of the shows: May 11 in Bristow, Virginia, and May 25 in Philadelphia.

In addition, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, the Americana band fronted by Willie Nelson‘s son Lukas that frequently has served as Neil Young‘s backing group over the last few years, will perform at a May 15 concert in Nashville.

The HillBenders, a bluegrass outfit known for performing their own version of The Who’s Tommy, will be the support act at a May 23 show near St. Louis.

The other artists confirmed to open for The Who during the spring trek are hard-rock acts Dirty Honey, Arkells and Reignwolf; singer/songwriter Leslie Mendelson; and the Canadian indie-pop duo MOON VS SUN, which features Our Lady Peace frontman Raine Maida and his wife, singer/songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk.

As previously reported, the Moving On! tour will feature The Who playing with a different orchestra at each stop. The first leg is scheduled to wind down June 1 in Toronto, while a second North American leg will run from a September 6 concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, through an October 23 performance in Edmonton, Canada.
