Motorists in Izard County should take special caution when entering intersections. There’s a good chance stop signs are missing due to the alleged thefts by two teens from Mount Pleasant.

Izard County Sheriff Earnie Blackley says 19-year-olds Landon Edwards and Adrian Black have been arrested and charged with 26 counts of theft of property and criminal mischief in the alleged thefts of the road signs.

The two were arrested Friday and have since posted $1,000 bonds.

Sheriff Blackley says theft of property and criminal mischief are Class A misdemeanors, carrying a fine of up to $1,000 per charge or a sentence of one year in jail.

He says when road signs are removed, emergency vehicles are hampered in responding to calls, which can be life-threatening.
