Baseball Bombers use walk-off, perfect game to sweep Nettleton, claim conference title

The Mountain Home baseball Bombers used a walk-off sacrifice fly and a perfect game Tuesday to sweep a double header from Nettleton and claim the 5A East Conference championship.

In the first game, Will Gross delivered a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 9th inning to give Mountain Home a 2-1 win. Gross also started on the bump for Mountain Home, working six innings and striking out 10. Satch Harris worked the final three innings, punching out three and getting the win.

Austin Mize went two for three at the plate.

In the second game, Trey Jordan pitched a perfect game in an 11-0 win. Jordan worked five innings with six strikeouts.

Mountain Home blew the game open with an 8-run third inning. Mize again led the offense by going three for three. Asa Smith, Luke Jackson and Gross each had two hits.

The Bombers improve to 20-4 overall and they finish conference play at 13-1. Mountain Home wraps up the regular season Friday at Siloam Springs.
