Wicked Cool Records/UMeWith Summer of Sorcery, the new studio album by “Little Steven” Van Zandt and his group The Disciples of Soul, arriving this Friday, May 3, the longtime E Street Band guitarist has given fans another preview of the record by releasing the song “Love Again” as a digital single and via streaming services. You also can check out the track at Little Steven’s YouTube channel.

The horn-driven tune is clearly inspired by the classic soul sound of the early 1960s, and reminiscent of some of the memorable material that Van Zandt has written in the past for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.

“That’s one of my two Sam Cooke tributes on the album,” Little Steven says of “Love Again.” “It’s a fun little fiction about a character who has been burned by a relationship so he travels the world trying to distract himself only to find there’s no escape from the addiction of love!”

Summer of Sorcery is available on CD, digitally, and as a two-LP vinyl set pressed on 180-gram black vinyl. You can also buy a limited-edition psychedelic-swirl-vinyl version of the double LP at uDiscoverMusic.com.

As previously reported, Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul will celebrate Summer of Sorcery‘s release with concerts this Saturday in Los Angeles and Wednesday, May 8, in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Then, after a European tour that runs from mid-May to late June, the group will launch a North American summer trek that starts with a June 29 appearance at the New York State Blues Fest in Syracuse, New York. The band will return to Europe in August for more shows, and also has additional U.S. gigs line up in September.
