Fiction Later this month, The Cure will play five shows at the Sydney Opera House in Australia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its landmark 1989 album Disintegration. In the likely event that you’re not attending in person, you’ll still be able to watch the final show, held May 30, live online.
The live stream will begin at 8 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time, which is 6 a.m. ET. If that early morning start doesn’t scare you off, you can watch the stream via the Sydney Opera House YouTube channel.
“This album was mixed to be played loud,” The Cure says of Disintegration. “So turn it up!”
Disintegration was released May 2, 1989 — 30 years ago today. Frontman Robert Smith has said that the newly inducted Rock & Roll Hall of Famers plan to play 30th anniversary shows in the U.S., as well.
