MHHS boys finish 12th in state track meet; girls end up 26th

The Mountain Home High School track teams wrapped up the 2019 campaign Friday at the Class 5A State Meet at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy.

The Bombers finished in a tie for 12th place on the boys’ side with Siloam Springs as Vilonia took the title. Lance Lee was Mountain Home’s top individual performer as he finished fourth in the pole vault. In addition, the team of Dantevious Jones, Hunter Pries, Tatem Beshears and Gage Hershberger ended up second in the 4×100-meter relay; and Bob Allen, Jacob Lewis, Tyler Sosnowski and Andrew Westphal were third in the 4×800-meter relay.

The Lady Bombers took 26th place in the girls’ teams standings with Sylvan Hills winning the championship. Mountain Home’s best performance came from Ka’lee Daniel, Britney Jenkins, Rylee Patterson and Emma Martin who finished eighth in the 4×800-meter relay.
