2 Entergy employees honored for heroism for help during recent fire

Two Entergy employees in Mountain View have been recognized for their quick action in helping save the lives of two men injured in a fire in a pellet mill in March.

WhiteRiverNow reports Ethan McClung and Eric Mitchell have been honored for their acts of heroism with the Arkansas Diamond Award presented through the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office.

McClung and Mitchell were at the Mountain View Entergy facility when they saw smoke from the pellet mill across the road in the industrial park. The Entergy employees spotted two injured Fiber Energy Pellet Mill employees on the roof of the burning building. The fire department had not yet arrived, and an ambulance had just reached the scene.

After driving to the fire in an Entergy utility truck, McClung and Mitchell cut power to the building and then utilized the vehicle’s bucket to take the ambulance crew to start administering first aid to the injured workers on the roof. The Entergy crew also helped lower the injured employees to the ground and into the ambulance.
