Long signs with College of the Ozarks

Another standout athlete at Mountain Home Christian Academy will be continuing his athletic career on the next level. Senior Cooper Long has signed a national letter of intent to join the men’s basketball program at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout.

Long says it’s been his dream to become a Bobcat for a long time. He says it’s his father’s alma mater, and he’s heard for several years about the school’s qualities.

Long is coming off a season in which he helped lead Mountain Home Christian to a 25-10 record. The Eagles were undefeated at home and in Ozark Area Christian School conference play. In addition, he received an OACS Tournament All-Conference selection, the OACS Sharp Shooter of the Year Award and the OACS Offensive Player of the Year Award. He also earned team awards including most points earned, most steals and the team captain award.

Long played in 35 games this year averaging 19 points per game and shot 77 percent from the foul line. His career point total at Mountain Home Christian is 1,625 points. Long attributes his success to his teammates, coaches and others from his childhood.

Cooper is the son of Joseph and Kim Long of Mountain Home.
