Mountain Home baseball upset in first round of 5A State Tournament

The Mountain Home High School baseball team, the number one seed from the 5A East Conference, was upset in the opening round of the Class 5A State Tournament Thursday in Little Rock. Texarkana, the number four seed from the 5A South, ended the Bombers’ season with a 4-2 win.

Mountain Home managed just four hits in the contest and struck out ten times.

The Bombers led 1-0 after two innings and 2-1 after three innings, but the Razorbacks scored two runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth for the win.

Mountain Home ends the year with a record of 21-5.
