ST. LOUIS (AP) – A Missouri member of a white supremacist gang known as the Aryan Circle has admitted assaulting a man in an attack that included using a burning log to try and remove the victim’s gang tattoo.

Federal prosecutors say 31-year-old Daniel Jerome of Wentzville pleaded guilty Thursday to an assault-related charge. Sentencing will be Aug. 7.

Jerome was among four men who assaulted a fellow white supremacist gang member at a St. Louis-area park in 2013. The plea agreement says the assault was spurred by the belief that the victim had switched to another faction within Aryan Circle.

One of the men took a log from a fire and tried to burn off a gang tattoo from the victim’s chest.

The victim was badly injured and scarred but survived.
