Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Live NationGuns N’ Roses have filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Oskar Blues Brewery, which is selling a “Guns ‘N’ Rosé” beer.
According to documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the Colorado-based brewery began selling the ale in 2018 without the band’s “approval, license, or consent.”
The brewery then tried to trademark the phrase “Guns N Rose” last August, which led the business manger for GN’R to reach out and request that Oskar Blues stop production of the beer and associated merchandise using the “Guns ‘N’ Rosé” label.
The complaint alleges that the brewery continued to sell the ale despite GN’R’s request.
In the suit, the hard rockers ask that Oskar Blues be blocked from continuing to make or sell the Guns ‘N’ Rosé beer and merch, and that any already made products be delivered to the band to be destroyed. They’re also seeking unspecified damages.
