MH relay team finishes 4th at Meet of Champions

Several area athletes wrapped up their track and field season Saturday with the Meet of Champions at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy.

For Mountain Home, the team of Bob Allen, Andrew Westphal, Whit Lawrence and Jacob Pyeatt finished fourth in the 4×800-meter relay. Lance Lee also represented the Bombers with a ninth place finish in the pole vault with 14’6″ and broke the school record set by Jimmy Magie in 1978. Also on the boys’ side, Harrison’s Hayden Vanderpool was fourth in the shot put.

The top performance on the girls’ side among the area was Kenley McCarn of Melbourne who was seventh in the 300-meter hurdles. In addition, Flippin’s Madi Hopson ended up eighth in the 800-meter run, Audra Blevins of Melbourne was in a three-way tie for eighth place in the pole vault, Ella Brandt of Harrison finished eighth in the high jump, and Omaha had a team end up ninth in the 4×100-meter relay.
