Twin Lakes Area already past average rainfall for May

We are less than halfway through the month of May, and the Twin Lakes Area has already gone over the average rainfall for the month. At KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot, the official reporting stations for Mountain Home, 5.17 inches of rain have fallen in May as of Sunday. The average rainfall for the entire month is 4.85 inches, and so far, we have a surplus of .32 of an inch.

When May comes to an end, it will be the fourth out of five months in 2019 we have been above normal in rainfall. For the year today, 28.41 inches of rain have fallen. The average through the first five months of the year is 19.2, meaning we are 9.21 inches ahead of normal.

The wettest May on record was 11.87 inches of rain in 1946.
