LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Authorities are investigating after an inmate at an Arkansas prison died from an apparent suicide this week.
The Department of Correction on Tuesday said staff at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys found 56-year-old Charles Humphrey was found dead from an apparent suicide on Monday alone in his assigned cell. Humphrey was serving a three-year sentence for second degree battery out of Pulaski County.
Arkansas State Police was immediately notified and will investigate the death, while the Department of Correction will conduct an internal investigation.
