IONIA, Mo. (AP) – A 47-year-old woman is dead and a suspect is on the run after a shooting in central Missouri.
Benton County Sheriff’s Office says officers received a call Wednesday evening from Khristy Clark, who said 45-year-old Travis Henderson was pointing a shotgun at her outside her house near Ionia.
KYTV reports when deputies arrived they found Clark dead, apparently from
gunshot wounds.
The sheriff’s office says a pickup truck Henderson used to flee was recovered east of Ionia. Authorities believe Henderson was picked up by someone else.
Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT officers and Henry and Pettis county law enforcement are searching for Henderson. Law enforcement does not believe Henderson is a threat to the public but says citizens should call 911 if he is spotted.
