Police say over 16,000 sexually explicit images involving children on man’s phone

A Stone County man, 31-year-old Michael Osburn of Mountain View, has been arrested and charged with 30 felony counts of possession of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Friday, the charges follow Osburn being arrested for failure to register as a sex offender and duty to register social media accounts.

While being taken to the Stone County jail, Osburn allegedly had a phone in his possession, taken as evidence and held until a search warrant was obtained to verify social media accounts.

Last week, investigators from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas State Police allegedly located over 16,675 images depicting digital images and matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child appearing to be less than 14 years old. The images reportedly included infants and toddlers.

Osburn is being held in the Stone County jail on a bond of $500,000.
