Arkansas’s remaining high school baseball state championships will be awarded on Monday, and Viola is among the teams to be at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. The Longhorns will meet Taylor for the Class 1A state title.
Viola came into the tournament as the second-seeded team from Region 2. The Longhorns are 25-7 on the season after shutting out Armorel last Saturday. Taylor entered the tournament as the runners-up of Region 4. The Tigers beat up on Greers Ferry West Side in the other semifinal nine days ago on their home field.
The first pitch at Baum-Walker Stadium is scheduled for 12:30.
