Two area high school baseball teams began state tournament play on a winning note in Missouri.
Dora dominated its sectional game in the Class 1 State Tournament. The Falcons went on the road and beat up on Eminence 12-3. Dora improves to 21-2 on the season, and they’ll travel to Cooter for their quarterfinal game on Wednesday.
Ava was at home for the sectional round of the Class 3 State Tournament. The Bears plated one run, but it was enough as they shut out Clever 1-0. Ava is now 18-5 on the year, and they’ll head to Westphalia to meet Fatima in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.
