Sting, Hall & Oates to appear on annual “Red Nose Day” TV special Thursday

Sting and Daryl Hall & John Oates are among the many stars that will be featured on the fifth annual Red Nose Day Special, which will air Thursday, May 23, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.

The former Police frontman has been added to the show’s lineup of performers, while the famous pop duo will appear in a video reimagining of their hit “You Make My Dreams” that also will feature celebrities including Julia Roberts, Gloria Estefan, Reba McEntire, Howie Mandel, Saoirse Ronan, Ben Stiller, Savannah Guthrie, Jane Levy, Jamie Oliver, Kal Penn, Mary Steenburgen and Chrissy Teigen

Josh Groban and John Legend also have joined the list of artists performing on show, along with the previously announced Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton. In addition to music performances, the Red Nose Day Special also will feature comedy sketches and short films.

Other celebrities participating in the special include Saturday Night Live stars Michael Che, Colin Jost and Kate McKinnon.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews will host the show.

Sting’s appearance on the special takes place a day before the release of his new studio album, My Songs, which features reworked versions of tunes he wrote for The Police and from his solo career.
