A Baxter County woman who was visiting an inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center found herself behind bars after a Bible she brought allegedly had tobacco hidden in it. Forty-four-year-old Bobbie Lee Ann Cockerham of Elizabeth is facing a felony charge of furnishing prohibited articles.

The probable cause affidavit indicates Cockerham went to the jail Monday for a visit and brought a Bible with her to give an inmate. During a search of the item by jail staff, tobacco was found hidden in the spine of the Bible. Following the visit, she was questioned but refused any knowledge of the tobacco being in the Bible.

Cockerham is free on $10,000 bond.
