ABC/Image Group LAThursday night, Tim McGraw will preview his upcoming book tour with historian Jon Meacham on the website TalkShopLive.
The pair’s new volume, Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation, comes out in about ten days, on June 11. Their six-city tour kicks off the day before in New York City.
In the 320-page book, the two consider patriotic classics like “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” along with more contemporary tunes like “The Age of Aquarius” and “Born in the U.S.A.” Pulitzer Prize winner Meacham looks at the historical significance of the compositions, while Tim takes the musical perspective.
Their TalkShopLive session starts at 7 p.m. ET tonight. The two will randomly sign a selection of the books bought during the special event.
