Transformation underway at 429 East 9th Street in Mountain Home

The building erected in 1945 at 429 East Ninth Street in Mountain Home as an Assembly of God church and later serving as an office supply store is well on its way to being transformed to the Bob Davis Veterans Shelter.

The building was purchased in late 2017 with a goal to provide local veterans with a residence until they can become trained for employment and get back on their feet.

Joanna Baxter-Farris serves as the secretary/treasurer of the shelter’s board and says volunteers have been working on both the interior and the exterior of the building.

Once the front portion of the building is converted into a shelter area, Baxter-Farris says work begins on the second phase.
