9 local students among 864 UAMS health care graduates

Nine local students were among 864 receiving degrees or certificates from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences’ five colleges and graduate school during the spring commencement ceremony at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.Degrees or certificates were presented to 165 in the College of Medicine, 229 in the College of Nursing, 111 in the College of Pharmacy, 64 in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health, 271 in the College of Health Professions and 30 in the Graduate School.

Three local students were among those receiving a doctor of medicine degree. The three are Jacob Bolt of Mountain Home, Hayley Varela of Mountain View and Rachel Pruett of Harrison.

Four students received degrees from the UAMS College of Health Professions. Radacey McCutchen of Harrison completed the Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree, James Pinkston of Calico Rock received his Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Sciences degree and Evan Johnson of Harrison was among those graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences degree.

Among those received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree was Lindsay Lawrence of Valley Springs.

Graduating from the UAMS Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health with a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Analytics was Jessica Boswell of Mountain View.
