The 11th annual Taste of the Twin Lakes, featuring local restaurants, gets underway Tuesday evening at 5:30 in the education building of the Baxter County Fairgrounds. The fundraiser benefits the local domestic violence shelter, Serenity Inc.

The Taste of the Twin Lakes features sample tasting of signature dishes from area restaurants. Participants will also have an opportunity to bid on a variety of live and silent auction items.

This year’s participating restaurants include Brewed Awakening, the Printing Press Cafe, Cooyon’s, Foodies Cafe and Catering, Bookworms Cafe, the Beacon Point Restaurant, Warrior Cafe, Letty’s Mexican Restaurant, the River Rock Inn, Holy Smokes BBQ and Catering, Heavenly Ground Roasted Coffee and Fried Pies, Bush’s Pizza and Brenda’s Cafe. Estella Tullgren and the Serenity Chefs will also be featured.

Serenity Board President Jennifer Porter has served on the board for the last 10 years and as the restaurant recruiter for the Taste of the Twin Lakes for the last seven years, and she says it’s always exciting to see the number of people turning out to support this event every year.
