A Baxter County man, 24-year-old Aaron Dakota Jones of Clarkridge, was arrested Thursday morning, following an investigation into a 911 call of a fight in progress in the 8000 block of State Highway 201 North. Baxter County Sheriff’s deputies responded to this address on May 23.Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery says Sheriffs Corporal Tracy Munson found one of the parties involved with a head injury and summoned emergency medical services. Sheriff Montgomery says Jones had fled from the scene before the deputy arrived.
The victim maintains he was attacked by Jones, who allegedly struck him on the head with an object from a toolbox. A witness to the incident confirmed Jones had swung something at the victim and struck him in the head with the object. The victim was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home for treatment of his injuries.
Investigators obtained a warrant for Jones’ arrest, and he was incarcerated Thursday in the detention center on a felony charge of second-degree battery. He is being held in lieu of $7,500 bond, with an appearance in circuit court set for later this month.
