Man who took car and wouldn’t return it sentenced

A Mountain Home man who took a woman's car without permission and refused to return it was in Baxter County Circuit Court last week.

Twenty-six-year-old Kenneth Alexandria pled guilty to charges against him and was put on probation for six years and ordered to pay victim restitution of slightly more than $4,200.

In January, the victim reported Alexandria had taken her 2000 Mercury Mariner the month before. She said she had contacted him and he promised to return the vehicle, but did not keep his word.

The victim reported she was eventually unable to make any contact with Alexandria.

An investigator with the Mountain Home Police Department contacted Alexandria's mother in Mena. Alexandria had been reported to be living with her. The mother said she believed her son had sold the car for scrap, however, the sale could not be confirmed, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Alexandria was arrested in early March and booked into the Baxter County Detention Center. He remained in jail until his court appearance, plea and sentencing last week.
