An Ozark County resident and licensed practical nurse, Sarah Hogan of Gainesville, has received Baxter Regional Medical Center’s Servant’s Heart Award.
The Servant’s Heart Award is BRMC’s highest nursing honor, presented during Nurses’ Week to nurses who have shown excellence in their field of practice, demonstrate impeccable behavior and go above and beyond the call of duty caring for peers and patients. Out of 144 nominations, Hogan was one of only two nurses selected to receive the prestigious accolade.
Hogan, an LPN for 13 years with four of those years spent at the hospital, is now the clinic charge nurse for the BRMC Urology Clinic.
Dr. Daniel Decker, clinic urologist, says he has never worked with or heard of anyone in any profession that is so competent, hard-working, compassionate, patient-focused, efficient and humble.
Clinic Office Manager Brandee Litty agrees and adds, “She is an excellent nurse and an amazing person. BRMC is very lucky to have her.”
Hogan is the daughter of Ronnie Hambelton and the late Denise Hambelton. She is married to U.S. Marine Corps SSgt. Kyle Hogan with two children, Owen, 6, and Emery, 4.
