The Mountain Home School Board mainly went through a standard agenda during its regular July session Thursday, but Superintendent Dr. Jake Long made a special announcement about an instructor in the district.
Catherine Beckham of Mountain Home High School Career Academies was selected by the Arkansas Department of Education as a regional finalist for the Arkansas Teacher of the Year award. Beckham teaches orientation to teaching I and II and coordinates senior internships.
The board also reviewed the budget for the 2019-2020 school year, but no action was taken. The board did approve student transfers, math instructional resources and other various items of business.
