A traffic stop for a fictitious license plate in Baxter County has resulted in the arrest of two Mountain Home residents. Twenty-seven-year-old Lakin Greer remains in the Baxter County Detention Center on multiple drug charges, and 39-year-old Stephan Nolan was released Tuesday nearly two hours after being booked.

According to the probable cause affidavit, an Arkansas State Police trooper spotted a pickup truck on Rodney Road, and a check showed the license plate belonged to a crossover vehicle. The driver, identified as Nolan, told the trooper the tags were on his recently-purchased vehicle at the time of sale. Nolan also reportedly said the bill of sale was at his residence, and he didn’t have a driver’s license.

He and his female passenger, identified as Greer, both exited the vehicle. During a search, the trooper felt something in Greer’s pants pocket. Greer reportedly removed a small clear container with a white crystalline substance, and she admitted it was “dope.”

After another check, the trooper discovered Greer had a felony warrant from the Arkansas Board of Parole, and Nolan had a suspended driver’s license.

A pocket in a purse found in the passenger floorboard allegedly contained a syringe with a liquid substance and a spoon with residue and burn marks.

Greer denied having any other liquid substance on her person at the Baxter County Detention Center. Later that evening, a state police dispatcher contacted the trooper and said she was notified by detention center personnel Greer had brought a white crystalline substance and pills with her into the jail. The trooper returned to the detention center Wednesday, and the jailer handed him two baggies with a white crystalline substance and a pill bottle containing six Quetiapine Fumarate pills and 14 Diazepam pills.

Greer faces a felony count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), two felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony count of furnishing prohibited articles and a misdemeanor count of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. Her bond is set at $5,000.

Nolan was charged with fictitious license plate, expired vehicle tags, driving while license is suspended or revoked and no liability insurance. He posted a bond of $660.
