Customers of the City of Mountain Home’s water and sewer department have reported receiving calls advising their water services will be shut off if payment is not made by a specified date. The director of Mountain Home’s water and sewer department, Alma Clark, says calls are not made to advise customers of pending loss of service if payment is not made.Clark says Mountain Home water and sewer customers are sent first and second notices by mail, if payment is not made. The next step is for services to be disconnected by the 26th of the month, if payment has not been received.Clark says employees of her department never request payment by phone. She says they do not take payment with credit or debit cards in the office or over the phone at any time. She says her department only accepts cash and checks in the office.

Clark stresses to not give anyone payment over the telephone.

Mountain Home water/sewer customers with questions about their services may call Clark’s offices at 870-425-5115.

According to Gerry Lance, manager at the Northeast Public Water Authority, they do accept payments by phone with credit cards, and they do call customers who are 10 days past due, but that call does not ask for payment information.  Callers are directed to their website for payment information. If you are a customer of the Northeast public Water Authority and you have questions, please call 870-492-4211.
