A Branson man reportedly jumped into Bull Shoals Lake early Friday morning in an unsuccessful attempt to escape authorities. The unidentified 33-year-old suspect is currently in the Taney County Jail.

According to KOLR, the male was confronted by the owners of a residence he walked into close to Missouri Route Y near Forsyth. The suspect then drove away from the residence.

The male was later stopped by a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper on the Missouri Highway 76 bridge across from Bull Shoals Lake. As the trooper approached the vehicle, the suspect jumped into the lake.

Taney County deputies later located the male holding onto the roof of a pavilion at Shadow Rock Park.
