The grandfather of 22-year-old Kyle James Tilley of Jordan, captured Tuesday night by law enforcement, burglarized his home when he was away from his residence. Tilley had been placed on the Baxter County Sheriff’s Most Wanted list Tuesday afternoon.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Thursday, the victim told investigators his home was entered and items taken overnight last Saturday while the owners were away from the residence.

The victim told investigators his grandson, Tilley, is believed to be the offender. Last Saturday’s incident was the second burglary and theft the victims have suffered since July 14. Tilley has also been charged in connection with the first incident.

During the most recent incident, the electricity to the home was disconnected to terminate power to surveillance cameras. In addition, a game camera mounted in the yard was taken.

A small hatchet was located close to a window where entry was made into the home. The victim identified the hatchet as belonging to Tilley.

A small home safe was located several yards from the residence in a wooded area. The safe had been destroyed by prying open the door.

The victim says the safe contained personal documents, his medication, $4,000 in cash and jewelry, which was all missing.

Tilley was observed by family members walking into his own residence, a short distance from the victim’s home, later Saturday morning.

Law enforcement was notified and a search was conducted. However, Tilley was not located.

During this time, family members reported receiving text messages from Tilley. In the message, he reportedly refers to the stolen property from both burglaries.

A family member made contact with Tilley and secured some of the stolen articles, including a .357 magnum revolver, reportedly taken in the first incident.

Tilley obtained a ride to the Briarcliff area, law enforcement was alerted and converged on the area. However, after being trailed until dark, the unsuccessful search was abandoned.

Tilley was taken into custody Tuesday night by Mountain Home Police at a local hotel.
