The “Forever and Ever, Amen” singer and his wife, Mary Travis, recently stopped by the Metro Animal Care and Control in Nashville to show their support for animal adoption. After getting a tour of the shelter, Randy and Mary visited with the animals and staff at the facility.

The organization shared photos from the visit, including one of the singer holding a kitten and another of him posing with a pair of dogs that Metro Animal Care named in his honor. Both pups — one named “Randy” and the other one “Travis” —  were adopted after the photos were shared on the animal shelter’s Facebook page.

“Yesterday, we had country music legend Randy Travis visit the shelter with his wife, Mary! We are so happy that they chose to take some time out of their day to spend it with us!” the organization writes.

Metro Animal Care and Control is the only 100 percent open intake shelter in the Nashville area and shelters more than 6,000 animals per year.
