A search for an individual wanted on a warrant out of Izard County in February resulted in the arrest of a Viola woman Tuesday at her residence. Fulton County Sheriff Al Roork says 28-year-old Amber Taylor faces multiple drug and weapon felonies. She is currently free on a $50,000 bond.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a Fulton County deputy went to Taylor’s residence on Havenwood Road to serve the warrant on Wesley Bray. The deputy says he heard commotion inside the residence when he arrived as if someone was running inside. He didn’t get a response when he knocked on the door several times, but he reports he heard more running from inside.

Authorities eventually forced their way inside the residence, and the deputy says he heard movement behind another closed door. He opened the door and observed a male, identified as Bray, jump through a window to the outside of the residence.

A female on the bed, identified as Taylor, reportedly removed her hands from underneath a pillow as instructed by another deputy. During a search of Taylor, a glass vile was allegedly located in her undergarment area with a white crystalline substance field testing positive for crystal methamphetamine, a small plastic baggie with a similar white substance and a glass smoking device commonly used for smoking methamphetamine. Several guns were also found in the room including a loaded High Point .9mm pistol with a live round in the chamber on the bed.

Bray reportedly ran through a field attempting to escape detainment. He was eventually caught nearly 300 yards from the residence and taken into custody. During the pursuit, a sergeant injured his left leg and was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Taylor was charged with maintaining a drug premises, possession of methamphetamine, possession with the purpose to deliver methamphetamine, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms. She is scheduled to be arraigned in August in Fulton County Circuit Court.

The press release from Sheriff Roork did not list any charges for Bray.
