The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to two roadway projects in Baxter County.Arkansas Department of Transportation officials says the first project is to overlay 2.6 miles of County Road 9 near Monkey Run.
Twin Lakes Quarrys, Inc. of Mountain Home was awarded the contract at $271,863.
The second project is to reseal 1.9 miles of County Road 50 near Mountain Home and 5.9 miles of County Road 17 near Three Brothers.
Marion County Paving, LLC of Summit was awarded the contract at $199,667.
Construction is scheduled to begin on both projects in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected later this year.
