Cabot teams sweep Ultimate Auto Group Tournament

The Ultimate Auto Group High School Golf Tournament wrapped up its two-day run today at Big Creek Golf and Country Club to begin the 2019 season. Cabot was able to sweep the wins in both divisions.

The Lady Panthers ended up with a total of 489 to beat Mount St. Mary by 50 strokes. Mountain Home’s girls finished fourth at 557, and Harrison took fifth place at 568.

Lauren Loeb of Mount St. Mary ended up as the medalist with a two-day total of 152. Isabel Chaidez also represented the Belles by beating out the Lady Bombers’ Sydney Czanstkowski in the tiebreaker for second place after both ended up three strokes off the lead. Also for Mountain Home, Madeline Smith was 14th with a 198, Ella Brashears took 18th place with a 204, Reagan Hasselwander finished 28th with a 224, and Grace Hilvert was 35th with a 255.

Cabot also ended up at the top of the boys’ team leaderbord with a total of 599. The Panthers finished nine strokes better than Little Rock Catholic. Mountain Home was seventh at 670.

Dalton McGinnis of Deer took the lead in the final round and pulled away for the medalist honor with a four-under-par 140. Carson Stephens of Cabot was second at an even-par 144.

For Mountain Home, Gaige Chaney finished 22nd and Ripken Finley was 23rd after both finished with a 162, Weston Hoover was 25th with a 163, Will Beckham shot a 183 to finish 41st and Billy Knox with 50th with a 213.
