A California man was arrested during last weekend after allegedly breaking bottles in a Mountain Home city street and telling a Baxter County deputy he needs to “back up.” Twenty-seven-year-old Seth Headrick of Waterford was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $1,455.

According to an incident report, the deputy was fueling up his patrol car last Saturday evening at a convenience store on Arkansas Highway 5 North when he witnessed a male exit the store carrying alcoholic beverages. The male reportedly opened and began consuming one of the drinks. He then walked into the roadway on First Street as a store employee was yelling at him to stop.

The suspect allegedly broke all of the bottles of alcohol in the middle of the road and continued walking. When the deputy told the suspect to stop, he responded, “I’m not stopping. You’re going to need to back up.” The suspect then took off in the direction of Dyer Street, but the deputy caught up to him, placed him under arrest and identified him as Headrick.

Headrick was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and fleeing.
