Arkansas State Rep. Jack Fortner is announcing his candidacy for re-election to District 99. District 99 covers most of Marion County and portions of Baxter, Boone and Searcy counties.Representative Fortner has served in the legislature since 2016. He says his experience and seniority will allow him the opportunity to better serve the people of District 99, if re-elected.

During the 92nd General Assembly, Fortner is serving on several committees, including agriculture, forestry and economic development, legislative joint auditing and house management. He is vice chairman of the Revenue and Taxation Committee and its Sales and Use Tax Exemptions Subcommittee.

Although sponsoring and passing legislation is a fulfilling part of his job, Fortner said, “I enjoy being able to help the people in my district on a personal level more than anything else I do. I work at getting problems resolved when individuals may not have been able to find a solution on their own.”

Fortner says he enjoys visiting the local school districts and being able to provide the tools and funding needed. He said, “I believe in giving our teachers what they need in order to instruct the students and prepare them to be responsible, productive citizens.”

Fortner is married to his wife, Pam.
