A Taney County man drowned after going into the water in an attempt to elude a law enforcement officer. According to the Missouri State Water Patrol, 26-year-old Tyler Jones of Hollister was pronounced dead early Sunday morning by Taney County’s deputy coroner.
Jones was reportedly being pursued by a Taney County deputy. He went into Lake Taneycomo around 3:15 and did not resurface. His body was later found nearly 15 feet from the shore.
This is the seventh drowning reported this year by Troop D.
