A Mountain Home woman was sentenced to five years in prison on drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Twenty-seven-year-old Lakin Greer, who has already spent time in prison, has drug-related charges dating back to 2016.

Her latest arrest came in mid-July when the pickup truck in which she was a passenger was stopped by an Arkansas State Police trooper for having a license plate belonging on another vehicle.

Greer was found to be in possession of a white crystalline substance which she is alleged to have told the trooper was “dope.” She was also found to have an active arrest warrant.

The trooper also located paraphernalia for the ingestion of drugs in a purse on the truck’s floorboard.

Greer denied having any other drugs or drug paraphernalia in her possession. But, when she was being booked into the Baxter County Detention Center, she was found to have two bags of suspected methamphetamine and medications prescribed for anxiety and depression.
