The Arkansas Department of Health has lifted a precautionary boil water notice for the Baxter-Marion Rural Water Association. The notice was implemented Saturday as a precautionary measure due to the possibility contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of the partial loss in normal pressure. The precautionary boil water order was due to a break in the main water system.

A spokesperson for the water association says bacteriological samples taken on Monday and Tuesday were found safe, and a satisfactory disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system.

The Baxter-Marion Rural Water Association is a public water system subject to regulations under the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. Those regulations require the notification of customers whenever a violation occurs.

Any questions concerning the notice may be directed to the Baxter-Marion Rural Water Association at 870-431-0050 or by visiting the BMRWA website Baxter-Marion Rural Association.
