Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumOf all the reactions to this year’s CMA nominations, Ronnie Dunn’s just might be the best.

After finding out Brooks & Dunn is up for Vocal Duo of the Year and Musical Event of the Year for their re-recording of “Brand New Man” with Luke Combs, Ronnie tweeted, “I thought we quit??”

Of course, B&D already pretty well own the Vocal Duo category, having won it fourteen times, more than any artist in history. They were most recently nominated in 2010, the year they decided to retire as a duo.

In 2015, they teamed up with their friend Reba McEntire to start their Together in Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which still continues today.

Earlier in 2019, fans found out they’d been back in the studio re-imagining some of their biggest hits with today’s hottest stars for the REBOOT record, which seemed to reignite their career.

Not only have Kix and Ronnie worked quite a few dates together outside of Sin City, they also recorded a REBOOT-themed episode of CMT Crossroads earlier this summer.

Just last week, the ACM gave them its Cliffie Stone Icon Award, and this fall, they’ll officially be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Earlier this month, the Hall also unveiled its Brooks & Dunn: Kings of Neon exhibit, which will run through July of next year.

Meanwhile, Ronnie’s been teasing on social media that he has something coming on the solo front on September 6.
