FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) – A northwest Arkansas man who was being held in the shooting death of a woman is now facing a second count of capital murder after authorities say he killed his cellmate.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a detention deputy doing cell
checks early Wednesday found Dekota Harvey standing at his cell door and the body of Luis Cobos-Cenobio on the ground behind him.

Officials say Harvey admitted to killing Cobos-Cenobio but claims he did so at Cobos-Cenobio’s behest. Authorities have not indicated how he died.

Harvey has been held since March when he was arrested on charges he fatally shot one woman and injured another in a dispute after he was kicked out of a Fayetteville apartment. He was 22 at the time.

He’s pleaded not guilty in that death.

Cobos-Cenobio was charged with attempted capital murder after authorities say he fired at officers last year during a car chase.
