Credit: William ClaxtonBob Dylan has announced plans to play his first North American concerts of 2019. The 78-year-old folk-rock legend will hit the road with his backing band on a fall U.S. tour leg that kicks off October 11 in Irvine, California, and is plotted out through a November 21 show in Philadelphia.

So far, the trek features 27 dates, but a post on Dylan’s official website notes that more shows will be added soon.

Tickets for all confirmed concerts scheduled through a November 2 performance in Muncie, Indiana, will go on sale to the general public starting this Friday, September 13.  Tickets for the remaining dates will be available starting September 20.

Most of the concerts will be held at venues affiliated with universities or colleges.

2019 marks the 30th year that Dylan has continued what is referred to as his “Never Ending Tour.” His most recent studio album, a three-disc covers collection of standards titled Triplicate, was released in 2017.

This past June, Bob issued the latest installment in his series of archival box sets, The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings, a 14-CD set featuring performances recorded during his 1975 tour.
