Mixed results for MH junior high football teams reported

It was mixed results for the Mountain Home junior high football teams Thursday night.

The ninth grade team lost at home to Mayflower 20-7. The Eagles scored a touchdown on a 74-yard run on their first play and added a 33-yard touchdown run on their third offensive play to build a quick 14-0 lead.

Mountain Home’s score came late in the fourth quarter on a 40-yard pass from Brady Barnett to Dylan McBride. Michael Davis led the Junior Bombers in rushing with 38 yards.

The Junior Bombers travel to Paragould next Thursday to take on Greene County Tech.

The Mountain Home eighth grade team won at West Plains 36-6. Brayden Mattox caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Levi Uchtman and ran for another score, William Cottengim had two rushing touchdowns and Landon White added a rushing touchdown.

In the seventh grade game, West Plains topped Mountain Home 12-8. Mountain Home’s score came on a 7-yard run by Tony Fox and a two-point conversion by Christian Cruz.

The Mountain Home seventh graders will play a blue-gold game at Bomber Stadium Monday evening.
