A new vinyl box set featuring replicas of 13 seven-inch singles that Van Halen‘s original lineup issued in Japan will be released November 1. The Japanese Singles 1978-1984 will be available in standard black vinyl and limited-edition red vinyl.

The 13-disc, 26-track collection features a variety of classic tunes that the rock legends released during frontman David Lee Roth‘s first tenure with the group, including “You Really Got Me,” “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love,” “Runnin’ with the Devil,” “Jamie’s Cryin’,” “Dance the Night Away,” “And the Cradle Will Rock,” “Unchained,” “So This Is Love?,” “(Oh) Pretty Woman,” “Dancing in the Street,” “Jump,” “I’ll Wait,” “Panama,” and “Hot for Teacher.”
The tracks come from Van Halen’s first six studio albums: the band’s self-titled 1978 debut, 1979’s Van Halen II, 1980’s Women and Children First, 1981’s Fair Warning, 1982’s Diver Down, and 1984’s 1984. The band’s classic lineup also featured guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Michael Anthony.
All of the songs appearing in the box set are the original album versions with the exception of three tracks — “Hot for Teacher,” which is a single edit released exclusively in Japan, and “(Oh) Pretty Woman” and “I’ll Wait,” which are the general single-edit versions.
Each single comes in a sleeve that boasts a reproduction of the original artwork. The discs are housed in a cigarette-style box.
