Mountain Home cross country runners fare well at West Plains

The Mountain Home cross country teams competed in the Zizzer Invitational Tuesday at West Plains. Not all of the team results are available but Mountain Home had some good performances individually.

In the varsity boy’s race, Mountain Home had five runners finish in the top 10, but finished just five points behind West Plains who won the team event. For the Bombers, Andrew Westphal finished second, Whit Lawrence was third, Bob Allen finished seventh, Jacob Pyeatt was eighth and Xander Towne was next.

In the varsity girl’s race, Marcie Cudworth finished second, Rylee Patterson was fifth, Bella Bevel finished 16th and Britney Jenkins was 18th.

The J.V. Bombers were led by Ky Bickford who won the race. Isaiah Kemp finished third, Trey Czeschin was 11th, Ty Lawrence finished 12th and Josh Boelkens was 13th.

Kelsey Roach paced the junior varsity girls, with an eighth place finish.

In the middle school race on the boy’s side, Hendrix Hughes finished first. On the girl’s side, Mackenzie Clark finished eighth.

The Mountain Home cross country teams will be on the course again Saturday in Joplin.
