Sir Paul was a surprise guest at the party, which took place Wednesday at the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Photography Centre. McCartney joined his daughters Stella and Mary at the event, where he took part in a conversation about the book and Linda’s photography.

Ringo and his wife, Barbara Bach, were among the attendees at the bash, as were The PretendersChrissie Hynde, Twiggy and George Harrison‘s widow, Olivia. You can check out a series of photos from the event, including several of Paul and Ringo together, at Taschen.com.

The Polaroid Diaries features hundreds of previously unseen Polaroid photos that Linda McCartney snapped from the 1970s to the late 1990s. It’s a follow-up to the 2011 book Linda McCartney: Life in Photographs.

Last week, Starr announced details of a new solo album called What’s My Name, which will feature a cover of the John Lennon rarity “Grow Old with Me,” to which McCartney contributed bass and backing vocals. The album will be released on October 25.
